GI Student Mental Health Resource Directory

This Resource Directory is intended to connect students, parents, school staff, law enforcement, and local mental health providers in Grand Island, Nebraska, with resources within the community to assist children and adolescents with mental health needs.

The Resource Directory was produced as a part of a grant project. The U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Safe and Drug-Free Schools awarded the Integrating Schools and Mental Health Systems grant to the Grand Island Public Schools. Grand Island was among 20 communities nationwide that were awarded funding in 2005 for the grant project. Partners with the school district in the grant project are Saint Francis Medical Center, Mid-Plains Center for Behavioral Healthcare Services, and the Grand Island Police Department.

Mental health providers in Grand Island were contacted in 2006 regarding whether they wanted to be included in the Resource Directory and provided the information about their services included in the Resource Directory. Mental illnesses that some students have include depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, bipolar disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and schizophrenia.

The Resource Directory will be revised annually. Please report any corrections or changes to the Student Wellness Center at Grand Island Senior High School, (308) 384-2265.

Disclaimer: This Directory does not verify licensure. All provider information is self-reported. The professionals listed responded to a questionnaire for information and consent to their inclusion in this Directory.
